MY THOUGHTS: IT’S AWESOME.
I actually could talk about this all day, but I have so many theories that I really don’t want to get into, or I would literally be typing for the next 8 days straight.
I didn’t think I could get more excited for this movie, and this trailer proved me wrong.
This feels like Star Wars. I don’t necesarrily hate the prequels, but I will say that they’re a huge step down, and one of the things that bothers me about them is that they don’t look and feel real.
This trailer takes us back to the days where CGI didn’t cover an entire movie. I watched the opening panel for this where the trailer made its debut, and they brought out the new droid BB-8. From the first teaser, he looked CGI. Then I read he was 100% practical. THEN he shows up on stage. This thing is as real as real can get and when I say this, I said out loud to my room mate “oh my god…they’re bringing the magic back to movies”. This trailer made me feel the same way. It’s amazing how significant practical effects can be.
Every shot of this has so much detail, my room mate and I literally paused the trailer at each shot and discussed our theories on what everything could mean. I’m nerdy, but I have never gone that far.
It’s clear to me now that Star Wars is one of those things that I live for. I’ve grown up with it and I love the fact that it’s not only back, but likely here to stay for good.
I couldn’t be more excited for an upcoming movie, and I will be seeing this about two or three times in theaters the day it comes out because I know that I won’t be able to take everything in the first time. This trailer proves that because I’ve watched it about 75 times today.
Bottom line; The Force needs to awaken sooner because I’m spazzing out.
