‘Ant-Man’ Review

With an epic movie like ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ being the most recent Marvel movie before this, how does a small film like ‘Ant-Man’ hold up?

The answer is: Brilliantly.

I loved this movie from beginning to end, and while I really enjoyed the most recent ‘Avengers’, I have to say that I enjoyed this film even more.

Why? Because it’s fresh. ‘Age of Ultron’, while totally great, was more or less something we’ve already seen before. It was all more of the same.

‘Ant-Man’ is a property that we all had a right to be nervous about. It’s about a guy who shrinks and talks to ants. Sounds pretty stupid to be honest. But it translates to film so well because of how self aware it is.

What makes it all work perfectly is the humor. This isn’t only the funniest movie in the ever-growing MCU, but probably the funniest movie (in general) that I’ve seen in the past 2 years.

The cast is terrific. I absolutely loved Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, and it was so cool to see Michael Douglas be in a movie like this. The stand out person in this however, was Michael Peña. Everything that came out of his mouth made me laugh out loud.
Not only is the dialogue funny, but in my opinion, the best jokes come from the shrinking-comparison visuals.

‘Ant-Man’ gets an A. It’s so enjoyable and you will find yourself surprised at how good it actually is. I can’t wait to see more of ‘Ant-Man’ in future MCU movies.
